The Weird Story of The World’s Oldest Conjoined Twins

If you’ve never heard of Ronnie and Donnie (what else would you name conjoined twins?) Galyon, you’re about to learn more about them in the next few minutes than you ever thought possible or necessary. They’re a world-famous pair of conjoined twins, but they’ve also been somewhat successful and were the oldest pair of conjoined twins on the planet. They sadly passed away back in 2020, at the age of 68 – which is exceptionally old for conjoined twins.

The brothers were conjoined at the abdomen and had their own arms, legs, stomachs and hearts. Considering that they were born in 1951, it’s already somewhat of a medical miracle that these brothers were born healthy and without too much complications. Technically conjoined twins aren’t all that unique, but most just never get born or die soon after childbirth. The option to get surgically separated wasn’t an option for Ronnie and Donnie, so they were destined to spend their entire lives attached to each other. Although I find it hard to imagine that either of them really minded being in their situation.
