After making some basic calculations, they realized that Brooks would be cutting it short on his return but he should be back home right around the due date of his daughter. But then in the seventh month of the pregnancy they got the news that Brooks had to go get some special training after his deployment, which pretty much ruined their entire plan. Brooks was about to miss the birth of his daughter.
Brooks informed himself with the Red Cross as they had a special kind of leave for soldiers that wanted to be there when their kid was born. The requirements were brutal though – the mother or child had to be in severe distress in order for him to be able to go back home. That’s not exactly the kind of situation you want to be in, so this was also not an option for Brooks. As if that wasn’t bad enough, now Haley’s check-up pointed out that she would be delivering the baby earlier than expected!
